Reading Anger Without Acting On It
A shadow work practice for reading anger before reacting: notice the heat, look beneath the shame, and hear which value the feeling is defending.
Most of us were handed the same early lesson: anger is the thing that makes you difficult. The raised voice, the clenched jaw, the sudden heat behind the eyes — these were signs that something in you needed fixing, softening, or swallowing whole.
Shadow work doesn't argue that anger is always comfortable or easy to be around. It argues something more precise: that anger is information. And information, ignored long enough, tends to repeat itself at higher volume.
