When Analysis Becomes a Hiding Place

When thinking about a pattern starts protecting you from it: the difference between why and what questions, and how to stop overthinking in shadow work.

Something keeps happening. A relationship reaches the same wall. A project stalls at the same point. You find yourself in the same conversation, with a different person, feeling the same particular kind of tired.

The usual response is to analyze harder. To map the pattern, trace its origins, build a theory about why it exists. That work has real value. But there is a moment where analysis starts protecting you from something rather than illuminating it. Where thinking about the pattern becomes another way of not stepping into it.
